Dechopol Kowintaweewat, from Bangkok, Thailand, received his Bachelor's Degree of Music from Oberlin Conservatory where he studied with Marilyn McDonald and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree of Music at the Indiana University under the tutelage of Kevork Mardirossian.
               
              As an avid orchestral and chamber musician, he has appeared as a concertmaster for Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Oberlin Chamber Orchestra and Indiana University Chamber Orchestra and participated in Colorado College Summer Music Festival, New York String Orchestra Seminar and Aspen Music Festival and School.
             
              His former string quartet performed in such venues as the Kennedy Center, the Phillips Collection and the Smithsonian Hall of Musical Instruments. Mr. Kowintaweewat has won competitions and numerous awards from both Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University. As a keen educator, he has offered outreach to schools in Thailand, Hong Kong and USA, and is holding Associate Instructor position at IU since year 2013.
